Every single registered domain has at least 2 Name Server records which show where it is hosted i.e. by using these records you direct your domain address to the servers of a specific website hosting provider. That way, you have got both your site and your e-mails managed by the same provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), on the other hand, there are a number of other records, for example A and MX. The former shows which server manages the website for a given domain address and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the latter shows which server handles the emails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). For example, whenever you enter a domain name in your web browser, your request is directed through the global DNS system to the company whose NS records the domain address uses and from there you may be forwarded to the servers of another service provider if you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your domain. Having independent records for the website and the emails means you may have your website and your e-mails with 2 different providers if you wish.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Hosting

The Hepsia hosting CP, which comes with each and every cloud hosting which we provide, will permit you to view, modify and create A and MX records for any domain name or subdomain inside your account. Using the DNS Records section, you'll be able to see a list of all hosts inside the account in alphabetical order with their related records, so any update is not going to take you more than a few clicks. Creating new records is equally simple if, as an example, you would like to use the email services of a different company and they ask you to set up more MX records than the default two. Additionally you can set the priority for every single MX record by setting different latency. Put simply, when your e-mails are delivered, the sending server is going to contact the record with the smallest latency first and if the connection times out, it'll contact the next one. Through our advanced tool, you will be able to manage the records of your domain names and subdomains with ease even though you may have no previous experience with such matters.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

With the semi-dedicated servers which we offer, you are going to have total control over the records of all domain names and subdomains you add in your hosting account. You can easily check what A and MX records every one of them has using the DNS Records section of the Hepsia hosting CP and changing any record takes only a few mouse clicks. If you choose to switch your web or e-mail hosting provider, you can change the required record and point your domain address to the other company for one of the services, while you still keep using the other one through us. You can also keep the main domain name here, while you change the A record of only one of its subdomains. If you are changing the MX records and you need additional ones on top of the default 2 we have, you can create them with ease and set a different priority for each one.
