A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It’s also vital to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a cloud hosting with our company and you want to activate the catch-all option for a particular e-mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally just one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with a few clicks if you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes with any domain name registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click on the logo with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Disabling this option can be accomplished in the same manner and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a given domain name, you will receive a warning notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never modify or deactivate anything automatically.
